Laff IT Off - Recruitment Agency!

Looking for a (better) job can be so discouraging. Look what I got myself into on Tuesday, heading to an interview I received an electronic mail invitation to.

Now, first things first, I was only given the name of the recruitment agency, not the company that needed my expertise first-hand. All I knew about this quest was that this agency would be recruiting a “Management Trainee” applicant for a “reputable company.”

So, I arrive at their location not too far from Oshodi-Apapa expressway. Just as I get out of the car I see this beautiful intro…

@-)
Never judge a book by its cover, they always say. So I went ahead, up the stairs.

Wait for it…….

:-ss :-ss :-ss

:))

Now, I’m not saying I am better than this place (just from the looks…but dat does play a factor). But once you are at an interview whereby they are asking you if you know how to use a computer and can at least type in your name on the keyboard…THEN you KNOW you are at the wrong place (for you).
Like wat the heck?! Then dude started telling me I would have to pay N 3 000 for registration into their agency, before they connect me with any corporation that may need me in the future.

Hmmm…

Anyways, if you are reading this blog, you obviously don’t need these people’s services. You could, however, recommend individuals that may fit for them better. Hey! I’m not tryna run anyone’s business down. Just looking out of you all wonderful folks out there ;)

Word to the wise, don’t trust all “reputable company” ads. Com’on if Oando, McKinsey, or Dangote wanted you, they would be proud to have their name on print, not hidden. Therefore, thread with caution :)

What’s YOUR weird job-seeking story?! Amuse me ;;)

    1. my sister, I so wanted to, but I knew my dad had already left me. Even when I got out of the car, I was like, "ermmm...daddy do you wanna come with to ensure I have the right place plus I don't think it matters anymore, cos I'm really late." All he responded with was I'll come back and get you. BYE! :(
